Jennifer Browning’s performance in “The Gospel According to Tammy Faye” was not just an impressive acting debut for her; it was arguably the most remarkable debut in UA theater history. Based on her performance, she was nominated to compete for the Irene Ryan Scholarship at the Kennedy Center’s American College Theatre Festival Region II at The University of Pennsylvania. The Third Annual Cabaret Company: Rise of the Plot brings a night full of acting, dancing and singing Feb. 16-18 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 19 at 2 p.m. at Daum Theatre in Kolbe Hall. Cabaret Company was created by University of Akron theater arts major Alex Funk. Funk was the first student to ever unite the theater and dance departments together to create a staged production.
