Local entrepreneur John Cavileer, opened a second Pita Pit location in Akron on Wednesday.
Calvileer’s first location can be found at 325 S. Main St. in downtown Akron.
“The first store in Akron is doing really well,” Calvileer said. “It is very convenient for lunch, an Aeros game, or for after the bars. We get a lot of calls from the Montrose area for delivery, so we decided to expand.”
According to their website, “Pita Pit was founded on the idea that people want an exciting alternative to fast food restaurants—a place with great tasting food that’s healthy, fresh, and still served fast.”
“I like the Pita Pit because it is fairly affordable for college students and it provides healthier options than most fast food restaurants,” UA graphic design major Mahala Bloom said. “I’m not a big fan of fast food restaurants but I like the Pita Pit.”
Pita Pit was founded in Canada, and its new location will open in the former Bombay Grill storefront on West Market Street.
The local eatery can be found across from Hobby Lobby and in front of Walmart on 3750 W. Market St. Suite E.
“I just hope when the students are out shopping in Montrose they check out our new store,” Cavileer said.
