A city of Akron Police dispatcher was attacked. She was knocked to the ground and robbed as she tried to enter the police building on 217 S. High Street, according to reports. Police chased after the suspect but were unable to catch him.

The dispatcher’s purse was stolen in the incident. It was recovered in the Summit County parking deck across the street. The money, however, was gone.

The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 30 to 40 and approximately 5- foot-9. He is described as wearing a black coat with reflective material.
