Robberies continue near UA

“The rash of muggings near the campus continued last weekend. Two suspects approached a 35-year-old Akron resident Saturday around 8 p.m. and held a gun to his back demanding that he give them money. According to Akron Police Department reports, the suspects told the victims, I know you, and you owe me money.”

The victim was then pushed to the ground and beaten and stomped unconscious, according to the police report.

When he awoke, he was missing money, a bus pass and his drivers license.

At 9:00 the same night, a 23-year old Akron resident was approached by two men who asked him how he was, and then punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground, according to APD reports.

The report also said the suspects demanded money and proceeded to kick the victim on the ground while going through his pockets.

Both victims were unable to be reached for comment. Neither are UA students.
