As I sat in Starbucks yesterday, I looked outside through the neighboring windows at the beautiful, warm, sunny day. Then, as I went to grab my bag, my arm hovered over the vent. Suddenly, my arm was overcome with a strange sensation: heat!
On a perfectly warm and sunny day, there is an apparent need for the Student Union, and many other buildings on campus, to continue supplying heat. I was warned by a friend to not even step foot inside of the Rec Center.
But who needs it?
Certainly not the students. I have heard many of my peers complain of the stifling temperatures in their classrooms. Their sweat-filled faces are a testament to that. The professors, who must also walk from building to building, certainly feel the same way.
And surely the environment doesn’t need it. All that wasted energy isn’t doing anything to save the environment.
So it must be the university bank account. They need to spend all the extra money lying around, and heating buildings that don’t need heated is the way to do it!
So please turn off the heat on nice days. You are just making it even easier for us to skip classes.
