It’s Not Too Bad Being Basic
October 19, 2016
It’s fall time and there is proof of it all over campus: changing leaves, flannels in sight, riding boots, and Pumpkin Spice Lattes in hand. There has been a term associated with these seasonal trends and that is BASIC. We all know a basic when we see one.
Newsflash: being basic may not be so bad after all. So don’t be ashamed when you order something involving pumpkin because this delicious fruit has a handful of benefits. Freshmen, are you still worried about that 15 pounds everyone keeps warning you about? Pumpkin contains a lot of fiber which can keep you feeling fuller longer.
The magical fruit is also full of vitamin C which can help boost your immune system. Another vitamin that pumpkin contains is vitamin A which helps keep your eyesight sharp.
Some of the other benefits of pumpkin include lowering blood pressure, protecting your ticker, and helping you sleep better. Who doesn’t love health benefits while giving into your fall temptations? ‘Tis the season to be, like, literally basic.
