Top Superbowl Commercials of '09

“Year after year, millions of people sit down on that last Sunday of NFL football to watch the Super Bowl. Many of these people are watching the Super Bowl for what it’s known for, the commercials. They must be some of the best, because according to CNN Money, NBC is charging about $3 million for a mere 30 second spot.”

Year after year, millions of people sit down on that last Sunday of NFL football to watch the Super Bowl. Many of these people are watching the Super Bowl for what it’s known for, the commercials. They must be some of the best, because according to CNN Money, NBC is charging about $3 million for a mere 30 second spot. Top 5 commercials were:

#5 Bud Light’s commercial on Conan.
This commercial starts off with a mock interview with Bud Light’s advertisement guy and Conan. Bud is trying to get Conan to do an exotic commercial that is only supposed to air in Sweden. Conan agrees, and after making the commercial walks outside where his commercial is playing on the big screen in downtown NYC.

#4 Budweiser’s fetch commercial.
This commercial begins with a rancher playing fetch with his Dalmatian. After the dog goes and fetches the stick, the Clydesdale horse runs and fetches a tree, attempting to show up the dog.

#3 Bridgestone’s Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head.
This commercial starts off with Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head driving a sport car around windy roads in the mountains. Mrs. Potato Head is yelling at her husband for driving too fast and reckless, while showing her that they are safe with their Bridgestone tires.

#2 Pepsi’s forever young commercial.
Bob Dylan begins this commercial with his song Forever Young. They show many different clips of kids and their generation gaps and are trying to demonstrate how Pepsi has always been there too keep the young feeling young.

#1 Taco Bell’s date commercial.
This commercial puts life in the fast lane. Guy meets girl, guy asks girl on a date, girl accepts, guy has enchilada platters at Taco Bell speed.

Although all the commercials were good, I narrowed it down to these. A strange commercial also appeared this year. Miller High-Life aired a 1-second commercial which was viewable to about 70 percent of the watchers. This was to spite Anheuser Busch’s nine, 30-second spots.
