The third SpringFest will be on Friday from 3 to 10 p.m. on UA’s campus at Coleman Common, located between the Student Union and the Rec Center.
SpringFest is a festival meant for entertainment, fun, food and games to celebrate the end of the school year. Festivities including a petting zoo, popular each year, and live music are all large parts of the event.
This year, students had a larger part in the event by being able to vote on the lead band to play later in the evening. The band chosen by the students was 3Oh3!, and they will play after the fireworks.
SpringFest is a free festival for students, faculty and staff at The University of Akron. All current UA students, faculty and staff are allowed to bring up to three friends for free. All in attendance need to bring a valid UA Zip Card. Each person in attendance who is not a current faculty or student must present a state ID and fill out a waiver at the event. Alumni can purchase tickets for $5 each for the event.
The top levels of the Exchange Street Parking Deck and the South Campus Parking Deck will be closed all day because of the SpringFest fireworks.
