Derek Anderson was the trendy pick-up for fantasy owners recently and the gamble was worth it.

Anderson is not a stereotypical starter for your team, but every now and then he seems to light a spark under the Browns that bodes well for fantasy owners.

Anderson was 10-18, passing for 204 yards and two touchdowns and while those stats aren’t that impressive, it was his consistency Sunday that made him effective.

He seems to be hit-or-miss, but if you’re feeling risky, the upside could be huge.

An owner in my fantasy league took Ronnie Brown of the Miami Dolphins in the second round of our draft. I tried to tell him how it was a waste of his second draft pick; I’m still eating those words.

Brown has 311 rushing yards and three touchdowns and 248 receiving yards for one touchdown this season. This dual-threat running back is having a breakout year and making any fantasy owner that drafted him look like a genius.

How fun has it been to watch Brett Favre this year? The Packers quarterback was 32-45 for 344 yards and two touchdowns on a record-breaking Sunday. Favre passed Hall-of-Famer Dan Marino, becoming the new touchdown record holder at 422.

If that’s not enough, Favre isn’t giving fantasy owners a headache anymore. His decision-making and consistency has elevated his play to where it was in his prime. He has eight touchdowns and only two interceptions in 2007 and the Packers are 4-0.

Favre’s assumed clone, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, has his team at 4-0 and is making fantasy owners everywhere happy they drafted him.

Romo has 1,199 passing yards for 11 touchdowns and 71 rushing yards for two touchdowns. More important, he only has three interceptions.
