The University of Akron chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) received the Star Chapter Award from PRSSA Nationals on Oct. 16 at the PRSSA National Conference in Orlando, Fla. Akron’s chapter earned this award through an increased involvement in the community, an increased involvement with the Professional Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) chapter in the city of Akron and by taking part in PRSSA National initiatives, such as attending regional conferences and encouraging members to apply for scholarships through the organization.
