Akron’s junior center Pat Forsythe has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I All-District Second Team.

This is the eighth time that an Akron player has been honored from the NABC committee and for Forsythe this is his first honor from the committee.

Forsythe appeared in 33-of-35 games this season, missing two due to injuries to his shoulder. He led the team in scoring with 10.0 points per game along with blocks with 1.3 per game. For the season, Forsythe shot from the field an efficient 55.9 percent, which had him ranked third in the MAC.

Forsythe posted 20 double point-figure performances this season, including a career-high 20 points in a close victory at Bowling Green on January 31. Also, against Kent State in the MAC Tournament earlier this month, he became the fifth player in school history to record 100 career blocked shots.
