I know you’ll be binge eating yourself to oblivion on Thanksgiving, so why not stop by Sweet Mary’s Bakery for a festive pie and add just a few more calories.

Baker Mary Hospodarsky has blessed West Akron with delicious baked goods. Her business began as a made-to-order bakery in 2006. She bought retail space in downtown Akron last December. Also, this bakery is next to my last Hidden Gem, Rubber City Comics.

Sweet Mary’s Bakery won Best Bakery and Best Wedding Cakes in the 2016 Akron-Canton HOT LIST.

Sweet Mary’s Bakery can satisfy your sugar cravings with scones, muffins, danishes, eclairs, and fruit tarts. There is also a case full of single slices of pies and cheesecake. Hospodarsky offers customer favorites like Texas Sheet Cake, sugar cookies, pies, and some specialty items each month. Some of the breakfast menu items include quiches, breakfast biscuit “sammiches,” and pastries. Stop in at lunch time to try chicken salad, egg salad, BLT sandwiches, salads, and soups. The bakery also offers vegan options.

Sweet Mary’s Bakery features seasonal menu items each month. This month, try pumpkin, bourbon chess, pecan, turtle, and apple cider cream flavored macaroons.

The bakery will be open Thanksgiving day 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. if you need something last minute. However, they are no longer accepting custom orders, but will have cakes and pies while they last.
