Saturday, Dec. 3 marks the opening of Myers School of Art senior Nathan Prebonick’s exhibition, “Interface.” The exhibition is Prebonick’s senior exhibition and serves as his final requirement needed to graduate with a bachelor’s in fine arts with a concentration in painting and drawing.

Dani Adams of summitartspace.org describes the exhibition as an exploration of Prebonick’s catalog of works over the past two years, with specific emphasis on Prebonick’s progression as an artist.

Additionally, the exhibit serves as a collaboration between the EXL Center and the Myers School of Art with the intention of fostering communication and further collaborations between the city and The University of Akron.

The exhibition will premiere from 5 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 3 during the Akron ArtWalk. The ArtWalk takes place the first Saturday of each month and features numerous galleries, shops, restaurants, and various forms of entertainment that the city has to offer. Admission to “Interface” and the ArtWalk is free.

The exhibition will be on display at the Summit Artspace’s Transition Gallery, located at 140 E. Market Street until Dec. 31. The exhibition will also be displayed in the former Quaker Square General Store, 120 E. Mill Street.

Prebonick has participated in numerous exhibits extending beyond his studies during his time as a student, including shows taking place at Rubber City Prints, the Andrew Jackson House, and the Summit County Ohio Building. His exhibitions have earned him the Myers Bronze, awarded by the Myers School of Art, the Akron Art Prize, and a second-place finish in the FRESH Art exhibition.
