The Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing invites students to Marketing Career Networking Night, an opportunity to informally network with marketing professionals, in Polsky Building Room 567, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The event begins with a panel of industry experts discussing topics relevant to developing students along their professional journey. Then, students go to stations that interest them to talk with marketing professionals.
The marketing professionals at this event are from agencies, local businesses, bigger corporations, entrepreneurs, and the University of Akron Marketing Advisory Board.
“This is an opportunity to build your network, but it could lead to more immediate outcomes,” Dr. Alexa Fox, associate professor of marketing and director of the Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing, said. “I think this is a really great way to learn about companies and learn about professionals that you wouldn’t have otherwise get to meet by having the chance to talk with them more informally.”
The event will also feature food and refreshments, and a gift card giveaway of two $50 and one $100 Macy’s gift cards.
The dress code is business casual. Photographers will take photos during the event, so Fox recommends that attendees dress how they would feel comfortable with appearing in photos.
Students looking to attend the event should register no later than a few days in advance. Students don’t have to be a marketing major or minor to register.
